All Star’s BMV-approved Indiana Driver Safety Program satisfies the state’s four-hour DSP Course requirement. Drivers may be required to complete the course after certain traffic convictions or by court order, while other Indiana drivers may take it voluntarily to receive a four-point credit on their Official Driver Record. Drivers notified by the BMV must complete the course within 90 days to avoid a possible suspension of their driving privileges

The 4-hour curriculum combines videos, images, knowledge checks, and practical scenarios to keep drivers engaged. Topics include Indiana traffic laws, hazard recognition, defensive driving strategies, adverse conditions, driver fitness, impaired driving, and responsible vehicle ownership.

Indiana Driver Safety Program FAQs
Indiana state law provides that persons convicted of two or more traffic offenses within a 12-month period may be required to complete a BMV-approved Driver Safety Program (DSP). Individuals under 21 years of age are required to complete a DSP if they are convicted of two or more traffic offenses.
A court may also require an individual to complete a DSP course and use this requirement as an alternative to suspension of driving privileges; however, the court order may not specifically require participation in a BMV-approved DSP.
When the BMV is notified of these convictions, a DSP course must be completed within 90 days or driving privileges will be suspended.
Notification of this requirement is mailed from the BMV.
Any Indiana driver can take a DSP course. The BMV will apply a 4-point credit to an Indiana Official Driver Record for successful completion of a BMV-approved DSP. The credit may only be applied once every three years. However, if an additional course is completed, the time period of the credit will be extended for three years from the new course completion date.
Individuals must be at least 14 years old to take this course.
Completing a BMV-approved Indiana Driver Safety Program can add a 4-point credit to your Indiana Official Driver Record. However, completing the course will not remove a citation from your driver history. The credit may be applied once every three years. If you complete another approved course, the credit period may be extended for three years from the new course completion date.
